Lots of Change

So Christian went into the MTC a week ago and it was a lot harder than I was expecting. I'm afraid I might have embarrassed him but oh well. When your little brother is going to be gone for two year, regardless of the reason, I think it's ok to cry a little...or a lot. Whatever suits you. We got our first letter from him today and it made me really, really happy. He seems to be doing really well and is happy. I was really worried about him being homesick or not liking it or something, so I can breathe a little easier now.

My graduation packet is currently at the Dean's Office awaiting his (or her...I'm not really sure actually) signature so I can take it to the Registrar's Office, pay $10 and officially turn in my application for graduation. So weird!!!

My family is most of the way moved to Utah. They are in Texas now getting all the last stuff done and then in about a week and a half, they'll be moving out here. I am excited to have them close and to not have to choose if I am going to see them on Thanksgiving or Christmas. I can do both! Stellar. It's funny how we're so used to me doing my own thing and not really being home very much. This is a conversation we had last week when I was down there:

Mom: So you're coming down for Thanksgiving?

Me: yup!

Dad: The whole Thanksgiving Break?! Like you'll live here for a week?!

Me: No!!!! Just for Thanksgiving Day! Maybe one more day after that...

Mom breathes a disappointed sigh and Dad and I breathe a sighs of relief that we cleared that up!

This might sound mean, but it's really not. I wouldn't know what to do living with my parents again in their condo and I don't think they'd know what to do with me since I haven't been home very often the last three years. I think it's funny.

The weather has taken a decisive turn for the worse. It's cold, rainy/snowy/sleety, and by the time I walk home from campus at 5 pm on most days..it's already getting dark! I don't appreciate it very much. But winter is coming and there is no doubt about it! Here's to Logan weather and having to deal with it for the next six months...maybe we'll see the grass again by graduation...maybe.

Funny Day Light Savings story- so I woke up on Sunday morning and was very cozy in my bed but definitely awake. I looked at my clock and thought "oh! 8:30! That's a nice time to wake up! I can still get things done but also have some lazy time before I have to get ready for church" (I have church at 1:30, so there is a LOT of down time in the morning). Then I pick up my cell phone and the time says "7:30". I had forgotten about the "fall back". I was pretty upset that on my only day to sleep in, I had woken up at 7:30 in the morning. And once I'm up, I'm up! I was sad. I ended up getting so bored by the end of the morning that I cleaned the whole kitchen, including sweeping and mopping, which actually had to be done anyway. So it worked out I guess.

Well, school is hard, life is good and for the most part I'm happy! Until next time!
