Life is so busy!...but I love it!!!

So I just got back on Sunday from the best Spring Break ever. I went with three of my friends to the WAC tournament in Reno, Nevada and watched USU's basketball team win all their games to become the champions and get a bid to the NCAA tournament. They were alotted 11th seed and will be playing Marquette in Boise on Friday. Now, they are really good, but I am being told that it is a very winnable game for a variety of factors in our favor. Hopefully, it's true. Sadly, I will not be attending since I am super poor, but I will be watching and cheering from the TSC on campus!

My new favorite hang out place in Logan is a new ice cream/frozen yogurt shop called Yummi Tummi's. It was opened by three former USU basketball players and is the coolest place ever. It is self serve ice cream that you can then put toppings on and pay by the oz. They have a room attached that has lots of seating, a bunch of tvs, some game tables, and TONS of pictures on all the walls, honoring all sorts of Aggie sports. However, being true to their basketball history, the owners dedicated one whole wall to an enlarged version of this year's team poster. I've been to a couple events there and have been very impressed each time. It's about time Logan had a place like this.

I am currently trying to find a place to live for the summer and next school year. A couple of my friends and I have decided to live together and all but one of us already do, so we know it will be ok. :) Or at least should be. It's so disheartening though to look at how much it will cost, know how much school will cost next year, and know that I have TONS of work to do this summer to be able to afford it. This school thing is ridiculously expensive. And thanks to budget cuts, it's only becoming increasingly so. I hate money...and the fact that I need lots of it and have very little of it. So stressful.

There are only 6 1/2 weeks left of school, including finals! This year has gone by so fast! After these next few weeks, I will be officially half way done with my undergraduate degree! Crazy!!! It's so weird how fast time goes by. However, I am enjoying every bit of it. My classes are awesome, my new major is interesting and things just seem to fall into place when they need to.
Life is great. Difficult but totally worth it.

January Baby!

So I just took a stupid quiz that told me "what my birthday says about me"..yes I am that bored. Anyway, it turned out to be pretty accurate:

Stubborn and hard-hearted. Ambitious and serious. Loves to teach and be taught. Always looking at people's flaws and weaknesses. Likes to criticize. Hardworking and productive. Smart, neat and organized. Sensitive and has deep thoughts. Knows how to make others happy. Quiet unless excited or tensed. Rather reserved. Highly attentive. Resistant to illnesses but prone to colds. Romantic but has difficulties expressing love. Loves children. Loyal. Has great social abilities yet easily jealous. Very Stubborn and money cautious.

So I guess there's Alyssa summed up. ha ha Enjoy.

Quote of the Day

While playing Catch Phrase:

Garrett: They're almost extinct...

Deborah: Leprechauns!

The correct answer by the way was endangered species. Gotta love it.

Ski the Beav

This morning I finally went skiing at Beaver Mountain for the first time. My first time skiing there, not skiing ever. I went with The Erin and Barbara, my elementary school best friends. It was so much fun! And now my dad can stop giving me crap that I never go skiing and that I should go to the Beav. :) It was also my first time truly skiing somewhere other than Brighton Ski Resort, in Big Cottonwood Canyon. My first time skiing was in fourth grade at Alta but it was on the tiny little hill that has a rope to pull you to the top. So I don't know that I can really count going up and down that little slope skiing. ha ha It was weird not to be completely familiar with the resort and not knowing exactly where each run would take me. But at the same time, that's what made it interesting. The only thing that could have made it better would have been maybe another foot of snow. It thought the Beav was way cute and actually bigger than people make it seem. They really talk that poor place down. But now I know, the Beav is awesome.

Introducing the Craigs

I just realized I have never talked about my family, so I just though I would give a little introduction: (p.s. this picture was taken last Thanksgiving)

Dain Atkin Craig - My faja! : Works in the radio business and is currently employed in Houston, Texas where he and the rest of my family still live. Enjoys skiing, hiking, Warren Miller movies, anything with Sandra Bullock or Amy Grant involved, dogs, music, drumming, scuba diving, spicy foods and Polynesian culture. He thinks he's Samoan. (I mean, he is Samoan...)

Lelani Pickett Craig - my madre! : Owns her own company, CommGap, that does interpretations and translations for over 100 languages! Sweet huh?! She likes yoga, pilates, working out in general, skiiing, scuba diving, driving really fast (when legal, right mom?) and will try anything at least once. She is super positive and loves adventure! She and I also share the same birthday, January 25th, with her dad!

Christian Alberto Craig - brother! : 17 and in his final year of high school. Crazy! He absolutely loves being in Marching Band, where he plays the clarinet. He is also extremely talented at the guitar and even writes his own songs. He loves hanging out with his friends, snowboarding, and anything that involves music. He's not home very much this year because he's always at school, band, or work (The Incredible Pizza Company, that's the real name, I promise). He's a sweet kid!

Emilia Lelani Craig (Emi) - sista! : 13 going on 35 and in the 8th grade. Emi plays the drums, which I think is super cool, and was the only girl percussionist in her band until this last year of school. Emi is super feisty and blunt. Trust me, you'll know if she doesn't like something. She's also a really hard worker, stubborn, determined, and what my dad likes to call a "sneeky charmer, a charmer that is sneeky". You can always count on Emi to know brand names and designers. She's fun to have around (when she's not grumpy) ha ha :)

Sassy - our Red Heeler. She passed away this past February from cancer and I still miss her all the time. She LOVED to play with her ball (or any of her toys really, but her favorite was her tennis ball). She enjoyed walks most of the time, but she let you know really quick when she was done. We rescued about her 7 or 8 years ago when she was days away from being put down at a local animal shelter. She's probably the sweetest dog ever and she is greatly missed. Her only problem was that she ate Dax's food and got fat while he got skinny. Silly dog.

Dax - our Catahula. or something like that. I'm not really sure. We got him about ten years ago. Dax is a super mellow dog. He doesn't know how to play fetch, which is kinda funny. He loves to lay in the sun and take naps. He is getting really old, so naps are pretty much all he has energy for these days. He's an awesome guard dog (when he could hear well) and absolutely loves walks! Dax is a good dog! We love him lots.

Well, that's my family. I don't get to see them often seeing as how they live in Texas and I live in Utah, but I talk to them often (thank goodness for technology!). I get to spend two whole weeks with them for Christmas, so I am really looking forward to that. They're the best family ever! It's great being a Craig!
